A beautiful set of songs. My Eyes Are Up Here may contain my favorite Lee lyrics. I was spoiled and heard this the first time on a rainy night drive.
Favorite track: My Eyes Are Up Here / The Beatitudes.
We should rejoice
But we probably won’t
Come on, feel the noise
Do they have the answers when I don’t?
We should rejoice
You haven’t lived enough to know your own voice
Burning Paradise?
Didn’t find it nice?
No movement to join?
We should rejoice
Our hearts all aflame
with the sound I enjoy
Lift up your voice
A true believer
We should rejoice
But we probably won’t
Raise up ruined voice
So horrified with the status quo
We should rejoice
Everlasting life In broad daylight
I should write it down
I should take a note
I should fight like a man,
I know
We should rejoice
Our hearts all aflame
with the sound I enjoy
Lift up your voice
A true believer
The crowded room was so full of life
The formal clothes
and the softest lights
And on the wall hanging overall,
“Aurora Taking Flight”
Behold the mountains in the scene
Does anyone here know just what that means?
So very near, mystic mountaineer,
who then began to teach
“Blessed are you who find stuff on the beach.”
My eyes are up here
But my body’s not where
I thought it would be by now
My eyes are up here
But my body’s nowhere close
To finding it out
My eyes are up here
But my body’s somewhere else
Just hanging around
What do you know about life?
Out along the forest road
The standing pines and the quiet groves
Spent a year just standing there,
never entered any rows
Quick now, here now, and always
Through the unknown, remembered gate
The temple’s here past the souvenirs
There’s a feeling about this place
“Blessed are you who take the staircase.”
My eyes are up here
But my body’s not where
I thought it would be by now
My eyes are up here
But my body’s nowhere close
To finding it out
My eyes are up here
But my body’s somewhere else
Just hanging around
What do you know about life?
Oh, the earth is calling me
And the stars with their sympathy
I traveled out far beyond the sun
just to look back at everyone
You were waving as I turned around
The seventh chapter jumped out at me
I sat a while in the sacristy
I came this far without a memoir
Is this all that it means?
“Blessed are you who keep your houses clean.”
My eyes are up here
But my body’s not where
I thought it would be by now
My eyes are up here
But my body’s nowhere close
To finding it out
My eyes are up here
But my body’s somewhere else
Just hanging around
What do you know about life?
What do you know about life?
What do you know about life?
I live a dream
I live a fantasy
where everybody
walks along with me
I speak of it every chance,
every chance that comes to me
You’ll see
You’ll see
I was waiting
congratulating everybody
made it before me
Now I’ll pull my weight, separate church and state
whatever that means
you’ll see
you’ll see
Ooh
now I know who you are
pulled apart the stories
with all the words that were
yelled out loud in the dark
at the park with the strangers
who saw it
you’ll see
you’ll see
I live a dream
I live a fantasy
where everybody
walks along with me
walks along with me
walks along with me
walks along
We should rejoice
But we probably won’t
Come on, feel the noise
Do they have the answers when I don’t?
We should rejoice
You haven’t lived enough to know your own voice
Burning Paradise?
Didn’t find it nice?
No movement to join?
We should rejoice
Our hearts all aflame
with the sound I enjoy
Lift up your voice
A true believer
We should rejoice
But we probably won’t
Raise up ruined voice
So horrified with the status quo
We should rejoice
Everlasting life In broad daylight

about
For the beginning of 2023. Probably something to be listened to early in the morning but not too early. Preferably in the fog.

I have been a listener of Luxury since ‘Amazing and Thank You’ Lee’s thoughtful lyrics the instrumentation and raw emotion have always drawn me to this band. So far on this album I enjoy One of Those Things (Or) The Temple. Great job! jason hendry
